The Music of the Night

Nobody wants to see David Cook as Josh Groban. I suppose it was in David C.'s long-term interests to show that he can just sing a ballad straight up, and that he actually has pipes, not just emo rock-arrangement gimmicks. But because I've come to count on David to salvage disappointing theme nights by changing up his songs, I'm a little cranky. It was an excellent American Idol performance; I was just hoping for a David Cook performance.
